At The British Club of the Taunus e.V.  (BCT), we place a high priority on protecting your privacy. We want all of our members to be informed and feel comfortable with how any personal information you share with us will be looked after and used. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use and store your personal information (this means any information that identifies or could identify you), and your right to make individual decisions about what information about you we use. We are committed to complying with the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). For this purpose the BCT  is considered a "data controller" and is responsible for, and controls the processing of, your personal information.

 

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

BCT  members who fill out a membership form also  sign up to receive BCT e-communications and the members voluntarily provide us with contact information. Information collected includes but is not limited to: name, address, email address, telephone number, spouse/partner’s name and employer, citizenship, activity interests, and volunteer interests. We may use this information to contact you regarding upcoming activities, searches for volunteers, RSVP’s to activities, and membership renewals. You may always "opt out," either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages.

 

Cookies  

www.british-club.de  uses "cookie" messages to automatically help provide better services. The cookie is used to identify your device to the website when you visit again so the site can load your preferences, automatically accept your credentials or otherwise personalize the experience. Cookies do not store personal information about you, just information identifying your device. You can reject cookies or cancel them by instructing your Web browser accordingly.

 

How Your Information May Be Used

We use your personal information in specific and limited ways related to the running of the club to: process and manage your membership, communicate with you about club activities and events, notify you about club elections and other issues related to the governance of the club, provide you with the president's weekly emails and the membership magazine, answer your requests, register you for activities, inform you about our charity efforts, manage the membership directory, manage activity groups you may belong to such as, Mother’s Corner and other club and membership-related activities. We do not share your personal data outside the club. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us.

 

Any club documents containing personal information will be password protected, shared with only the relevant persons, and properly maintained to protect each individual’s right to privacy.

 

Photos taken at Club events may be used in BCT marketing, on the website and newsletter, and on the members only Facebook page.  You have the right to request that a photo that includes you be removed from public viewing. - If you prefer not to be included in any such photos please advise your event hosts and all efforts will be made not to include you in these photos.

 

Email Privacy

The BCT does not provide, sell, or rent any information to anyone outside the organisation.

 

Legal Disclosure

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, for example to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practice, or in response to a valid request from a competent authority. We will notify members if such an occasion were to arise.

Retention Period

BCT  will retain membership information for the duration of the member’s membership period. Upon termination of membership or non-renewal of membership, membership data shall be archived unless expressly requested that it be removed from the BCT database by the member. Archived data is retained for statistical reporting purposes only and is not available for use in the running of the club or to contact you for any reason.

 

Data Rights

All members of BCT have full access rights to their data and have the right to maintain, change or delete their personal information at any time. Should a pending member or member in good standing opt out of providing contact information, the member may not be able to access to the BCT website and may not receive information regarding activities and events, contact information for attending events, All Club emails and president emails.

 

Consent

If you have given us your consent to use personal information, you can withdraw your consent at any time. If your withdrawal of consent is for all personal data, this will effectively terminate your membership as we will no longer be able to contact you or manage your membership. Please contact our Data Manager at contactus@british-club.de to provide notice if you wish to withdraw your consent.

 

Erasure

You may ask us to delete your personal information when it is no longer necessary for us to use it, you have withdrawn your consent to use it, or where AIWC has no lawful basis for keeping it. Please contact us at contactus@british-club.de providing details of the information you wish to have deleted.

 

Modifications

This privacy policy is subject to change. This is version 2 and was last updated March 6, 2019. We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this privacy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website, or a president's email. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
